The Anglican Church has links with various tertiary institutions within the Diocese of Melbourne.

Bishop Barbara Darling has oversight for tertiary chaplaincy within the Diocese.  She is a member of the Council for Chaplaincies in Tertiary Institutions (CCTI) as an Anglican representative, together with the Revd Dr Andreas Loewe who is in a chaplaincy role at Trinity College.

Most tertiary chaplains are involved more fully in another sphere of ministry – whether parish or sector – and are listed usually with that primary responsibility.  However, they are also linked with the tertiary institutions and usually are involved in voluntary work there. This is sometimes with existing Christian bodies like Christian Union, and sometimes involved in leading worship on campus

The tertiary chaplains currently ministering are as follows:

 Tertiary chaplains

We continue to use the established pathway for the recruiting and nomination of new Anglican chaplains for a variety of tertiary institutions. The Anglican representatives on the CCTI meet with potential candidates and send their recommendation to the CCTI.

They are then interviewed by several non Anglican members of CCTI and if suitable they are then accepted as a potential chaplain, before being introduced to the appropriate department at the tertiary institute for further interview and accreditation.
