The Archdeaconry of La Trobe stretches from Brunswick north to Craigieburn, Walan and Wandong and from Northcote to Epping and includes Hume Anglican Grammar School.
This area in Melbourne's North has a distinctive multi-cultural flavour, combined with major growth in new housing and an increasing density of population in older suburbs.
The challenge for the Anglican Church in this part is how to maintain our historic ministry and at the same time meet the needs of an evolving and complex set of communities.
The Venerable Robert Newton has been the Archdeacon of La Trobe in the Northern Region since 2011. He is presently the Vicar of the Parish of Christ Church Brunswick, prior to this he was Archdeacon of Ballarat.
