Marriage, baptism, funerals, and records for the Diocese of Melbourne
While there are agreed forms and regulations that govern baptism, marriage and funeral services in the Anglican Church, different parishes and ministers may have different approaches and preferences. If you wish to be baptised or have a child baptised, you wish to get married or find out about remarriage of divorced persons, you should speak to the minister of your local parish.
If you cannot find a minister near you to speak to you about baptism, wedding or funeral ministries, please contact the Bishop in your region.
Finding records
Baptism, marriage and funeral registers are not kept centrally in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne. If you wish to find out information about a baptism, wedding or funeral from the past, please contact the parish in which the ceremony took place.
If there is historical information you require and the parish concerned cannot assist, please contact the diocesan archivist.
