New female dean for St Peter's Cathedral Adelaide

St Peter’s Cathedral in Adelaide is to have its first woman Dean.

Archbishop Jeffrey Driver on Sunday announced the appointment of Archdeacon SarahMacneil from Canberra to the position.

Dr Macneil will commence ministry at St Peter’s Cathedral in July. She is currently Rector of All Saints, Ainslie in the ACT.

Married to Ian, who is also an Anglican Priest, Sarah Macneil began her working life in Foreign Affairs and Trade; including a diplomatic posting in Stockholm.

Dr Macneil has been an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn for a number of years and is a member of the Standing Committee of the General Synod, the Church’s national governing body. She is an Australian representative on the Anglican International Consultative Council. She also holds a PhD from Charles Sturt University.
